Vicky Donor to go bilingual?

In : |

After the blasting success of the movie, Vicky Donor might have its versions in Tamil and Telugu! That is the hottest rumor in B-town even in the midst of its successful run at the box office. The South filmmakers are considering seriously in making the movie reach the masses with the same intensity that hit the bollywood screens. Although the decision is still pending but we might be able to see the South Vicky pretty soon.

The news broke when producer Sashikanth had recently confirmed that he and actor Siddharth were in talks with the production house behind "Vicky Donor". "We watched the film on the day of its release and since the content was something new, which is what we have always wanted to present to our audience, we got in touch with the Bollywood studio. We have asked for the Tamil-Telugu remake rights as we intend to do the movie as a bilingual."

Shashikanth had also added that the producers of the movie has responded in favor of this remake "It is actually a two-way thing between us as we are already negotiating with them for the Hindi remake of "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi", but when the mirror recently caught up with the original producers, the news went in vain as they clearly mentioned that they are unaware of any such talks. "We are unaware of any such transactions. I have also checked with the other co-producer, Rising Sun. They too are unaware. John, whose JA Entertainment has produced the film, is out of the country now and I will speak to him once he returns," says Ram Mirchandani who heads Rampage Motion Pictures and who has also co-produced Vicky Donor.

Sheel Kumar, partner in JA Entertainment, said, "I have been handling everything related to "VD" but haven't had any talks with any actors or producers from down South on this. The film is in the third week of its release. Till date, it has done a business worth a little over Rs 30 crore from the theatrical release. We haven't even sold the home video or satellite rights. Some broker might have been approached by these producers from the South but we haven't spoken to anyone."

So till date the exact fate of the south remake is in confusion clouds but we hope to see a remake and hopefully a revive the current trend in South.
