Bittoo Boss is not Baand Baaja Baarat - Abhishek

In : |

Pyar Ka Punchnaama did give the industry a bold filmmaker who had a strong story line to back up instead of highly paid stars. Pyar Ka Punchnaama was a sleeper hit through the screens and had gained much critics appreciation. Abhishek Pathak, the brain behind PKP is now returning with his next movie - Bittoo Boss, the movie has already gained much attention, for the shear name and the beautiful songs that have been released. (songs here)

The movie posters does remind you of Baand Baaja Baarat, but Abhishek clearly clarifies that it bears no resemblance. “When I made PKP, I was particularly careful about the film not getting compared to Dil Chahta Hai. Every film about three guy friends can’t be the same right? I agree our set-up is similar to Band… but the story is unique,” he says, adding, “Both the protagonists might share the same name — Bittoo — but once you see Bittoo Boss, you’ll know they are very different characters.”

He says that the movie title came through by the script and he says “The title of the film came with the idea and my director and I agreed to it. Bittoo, the protagonist, is a video cameraman in Punjab capturing weddings. The story is about how he views the world — all the emotions, actions that he captures through his lens,”

Abhishek made PKP with a new director, technicians and a fresh cast, which was a gamble that paid off. “I don’t need stars to make my film work. As a production house, my films will concentrate on a tight storyline and fabulous promotions. Automatically, the rest fall in place,” he states, adding, “There’s some pressure on me with Bittoo Boss but I think I’ve got most of it right.”

The production and distribution of the movie is handled by Kumar Mangat Pathak, father to Abhishek and the movie also stars Amitha Pathak, his daughter. As for casting his sister in the movie Abhishek feels that it was the demand of script and he felt that Amitha felt right into it.

As a producer, Abhishek says he’s taking baby steps at the moment. “I want to be able to give more and more new people a chance — their freshness will help me achieve perfection,” he ends.

We are already liking the looks of Bittoo, lets see how the movie comes out to be.
