The much acclaimed hit of 2003, Saamy is said to be remade in Hindi starring Sanjay Dutt as the lead player. The movie which portrays the life of a cop with grey shades, is something which Sanjay is keen on doing. The movie will be directed by K.S. Ravikumar, but it seems that there is still confusion on the female lead for the movie.

It was earlier said that Trisha Krishnan who had done the female lead in the Tamil version would be doing the same in Hindi movie, but it seems that she is tight on schedule and wont be in. Trisha who had made her debut to bollywood through 'Khatta Meeta' had a cold response for the movie. Usually the trend would be that the actress would try to grab in a better role that marks her impression in Bollywood as she did in Kollywood. But no, Trisha has other plans!

Trisha was asked a bulk date of close to 100 days for the shoot and that seems to be the major reason for dropping the project, speaking to TOI Uma Krishnan, Trisha's mom said "We cannot sign the film since the makers have asked for bulk dates, which we cannot accommodate. The dates for the Bollywood film clash with the dates of our current commitments. So we are not signing the film."

Apart from this she has also dropped the project of her best friend Prabhu Deva, citing the same reasons. Prabhudeva's next movie will be a remake of Telugu superhit "Nuvvosthanane Nenoddantana". This role has now allegedly gone to Shruthi Haasan. (news here)

Prabhu Dheva's film, will hav Kumar Taurani's (of TIPS fame) son Krish playing the male lead.

Sanjay Excited - Grants 100 days of schedule

Where Trisha is tight on date schedule, Sanjay Dutt on the other hand is quite careful about the roles he is to choose after the blazing success of Agneepath. But the remake of Saamy is something which has excited the actor very much and he has given out a commitment of 100 days outright for the project. This is said to be the longest set of days that Sanjay has given for any project.

“Sanjay feels Saamy is one film that can do wonders to his current stature of an actor.”  says a source.

Apparently, the film's director K.S. Ravikumar has been promised that the film will not only get done in time, but also that Sanjay will give his all to it, which includes building a perfect physique and delivering a splendid performance.

We wish the same!
